Bannau Brycheiniog National Park and Black Mountains College Join Forces for Climate Justice Series at Theatr Brycheiniog
Bannau Brycheiniog National Park and Black Mountains College are launching a ground-breaking series of events that tackle the pressing issue of climate justice. These monthly events at Theatr Brycheiniog will encompass a range of thought-provoking talks, engaging film screenings, and interactive workshops.
As stewards of our natural heritage and champions of sustainability, Bannau Brycheiniog National Park and Black Mountains College are joining forces with Theatr Brycheiniog to address one of the most pressing challenges of our time. This exciting venture aims to ignite conversations, promote awareness, and inspire positive change within our community and beyond.
The first three events in this series are as follows:
Climate Justice Series: Strange World and Craft Workshop |Sun 29th Oct | £6/£12 + 75p fees
11am – 12pm Workshop, 1pm Strange World film screening
Ticket price: £12 + 75p fees film and workshop
Ticket price: £6 + 75p fees for film only

A family-focused event during the half-term break, featuring a special screening of Disney's "Strange World”. Before the screening, families are invited to participate in a series of engaging environmental crafting activities led by students and lecturers from Black Mountains College. It's an opportunity for young and old to connect with nature and learn about sustainable living in a fun and creative way.
Climate Justice Series: Writing In the Landscape on | Tue 28th Nov | 7pm
This event celebrates the culmination of the Bannau Brycheiniog Writer in Residence program, where two appointed writers have spent a year exploring the landscape, people, and nature of the Park. The writers will present their work, sharing their deep insights and unique perspectives on the natural beauty and cultural significance of the area. This event will be bilingual Welsh/English. Simultaneous translation will be supplied.
An enlightening conversation between Ben Rawlence, CEO of Black Mountains College, and Patrick Holden, founder and CEO of The Sustainable Food Trust. Their discussion will be followed by a screening of an impactful documentary – either "Kiss the Ground" or "Dirt! The Movie" – shedding light on sustainable agriculture and its vital role in combating climate change.
Jodie Bond, Head of Communications for Bannau Brycheiniog, said, "We are excited to be part of this initiative, which brings together our beautiful National Park, a forward-thinking educational institution like Black Mountains College, and the cultural hub that is Theatr Brycheiniog. These events will empower our community to engage with the pressing issue of climate justice."
