PILATES-BASED BACK CARE
A gentle pilates-based exercise class which focuses on good posture, balance, use of core muscles and stretches to get stiff backs moving again and to help keep participants fit and mobile. Suitable for all, clients are welcome to work at their own pace.

PILATES-BASED BODY CONDITIONING
A fitness class incorporating several elements: a dance-based aerobic warm-up, to help cardio-vascular fitness and challenge the brain, pilates-based mat exercises to improve core strength, control and coordination and stretches to improve flexibility. MID WALES DANCE ACADEMY
The school has been established for more than 20 years and runs classes in ballet, tap, modern and street dance for children aged three up to adults. Junior classes are held on Saturday mornings and the more senior classes on weekdays after school. All our teachers are fully qualified and DRB checked and we follow the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus for examinations.
We also produce an annual showcase of our work in July on stage at the theatre. Chorus Line is our drama group which meets on Saturday afternoons and welcomes students aged seven years and over.

OUR COMMUNITY
BRECON TOWN CONCERT BAND
The band is a mix of all ages and abilities which rehearses on a Monday in the studio from 7 until 9pm. A wide range of music is rehearsed from the very easy to the more advanced music that is performed in our annual"Last Night of the Proms concert.
Throughout the summer months, the band performs at many shows and functions and in the weeks before Christmas we perform in Bethel Square. If you play or would like to learn a brass, woodwind or percussion instrument, then the band is an ideal place for you.
The yearly membership fee is only £35 and this includes an instrument (if needed and in stock), polo shirt, music satchel and all music.

UNIVERSITY OF THE 3RD AGE
Brecon U3A (University of the Third Age) is for retired or semi retired people who want to keep active in mind and body and enjoy socialising. We meet weekly on a Thursday with a programme of talks on a wide variety of subjects.
Our many special interest groups offer the chance to try something new, organising a wide range of activities including walks, workshops, site visits and coach trips. More information can be found on our website.
