Oh hello there September! It's lovely to see you at last...
September is always such a wonderful time, as the leaves slowly start to change it's the perfect time to go for a walk down the stunning canal and pop into our cafe for a hot drink to accompany you while you stroll. The September sun is shining today! It’s truly beautiful outside our theatre, we are thrilled and super excited for our Autumn line-up! It now feels like the perfect time to reflect on the past few weeks…
We couldn't be more thrilled about the recent events that took place at Theatr Brycheiniog! The Comedy Club, in partnership with Little Wander, made a fantastic comeback on Friday, September 1st. It was a night filled with laughter, good food, and great company. We had three incredibly talented comedians from the UK comedy circuit who had the audience in stitches throughout the evening. The Comedy Club will now be a regular event, taking place on the first Friday of every month. So mark your calendars and get ready to have your funny bone tickled! we’ve had great feedback-
“It was a nice night, we liked that there was an autistic comedian we could really relate to, we also enjoyed the intimate set up.” - Audience member
“It’s our first time here and it was very good, we will be back” - Audience member
Before the show, our beloved Theatr B! Café put on an amazing curry evening, serving mouthwatering homemade curry with both meat and vegan options. We received rave reviews from everyone who attended. Curry before our comedy clubs will be a regular event!
And let's not forget the exhilarating Taiko Drummers workshop that took place on Sunday, September 3rd. It was an absolute blast! An opportunity to experience the joy of playing Japanese Taiko drums. The energy and rhythm in the room were infectious, and everyone left with a big smile on their face.
We also put on some great family events… We kicked off our summer holidays with Disney Pixar’s Wall–E for free in the auditorium, it was so great to see so many happy faces enjoying the film. We also had the pleasure of hosting a free family event "Frogs in Bogs / Brogs Y Bogs." It took place on August bank holiday weekend, and it was an absolute hit! This outdoor event captured the imaginations of both kids and adults alike. It was a fantastic show, supported by the Arts Council of Wales, and we were thrilled to see so many families come together and enjoy the performance.
As we reflect on these incredible events, we can't help but feel a sense of excitement for the future. The upcoming months are filled with a variety of performances and events that we can't wait to share with our community. So, be sure to keep an eye out for our upcoming shows and join us for more unforgettable experiences at Theatr Brycheiniog!
Now, let’s talk about what else is coming up in September!

The Drew Barker-Wright Charity was founded in 2018 in memory of 4-year-old Drew. Drew passed away in 2017 after being diagnosed with chordoma, a rare childhood cancer.
Run on a voluntary basis, The Drew Barker-Wright Charity is rooted in Drew’s gentle spirit, bravery and the belief that children with chordoma and other rare childhood cancers deserve a better pathway of treatment.
Childhood and cancer are two words that no parent wants to hear. But, unfortunately the rate of cancer in children is increasing and the cause of rare childhood cancers, like chordoma, are still unknown.
