Summer has now well and truly come to an end, it's a little chillier but also cosier...autumn in the theatre is just magical. There is no better place to be, the atmospheric buzz surrounding the building is both romantic and energetic as we move towards one of our busiest times. And although we are not quite feeling festive YET the hint is definitely in the air as we plan for the up and coming season.

October is always such a scenic time, the leaves have started to fall leaving a reddish blanket coating the grounds around our building, it's just beautiful for a walk along the wonderful canal. Why not pop into our cafe for a hot drink to accompany you while you venture on an autumn stroll! We are open daily from 10-5pm for hot and cold refreshments.

As you will be aware by now we have been undergoing a refurbishment to coincide with our amazing rebrand. We have set up a shop right here in our amazing Theatr! We are selling local goods, so please pop in and see for yourself the fantastic products we have on offer, whether you are looking for a treat for yourself or maybe a gift for someone special. This is just the start, more to follow very soon! Shop opening times are 10am-6pm or later on show nights!

We are super excited for halloween! Last year we got visited by some theatre ghosts! We hope they will be back again and they will LOVE our new brochure… follow us on our social and maybe you will spot them!

Little Bits of Ruined Beauty, a new play by Tom Wentworth, takes to the stage at Theatr Brycheiniog October 4th and 5th, exploring themes of guilt, masculinity, but most of all love.  As a theatre we are really excited about this show itself is small and intimate with both cast and audience on the stage itself, this always proves to be such a magical set up.

A little about the show-

When Eddie returns to Shropshire, he falls back into his fractious relationship with his father, both skirting around things long left unsaid. Gradually their relationship changes but will they break through and find the new beginning they both need?

A darkly comic play examining the subtle shift from cared-for to carer and how dignity and independence are maintained in isolated rural areas.

This new play by Shropshire raised playwright Tom Wentworth is about guilt, masculinity but most of all love.

Produced by Pentabus. Commissioned and supported by Unlimited, celebrating the work of disabled artists, with funding from Arts Council England.

Tylwyth is a follow on from LLWYTH. 'Llwyth', originally a stage play about four friends on a night out highlighted the conflict between their identity as young gay men and their Welsh identity, which resonated with audiences everywhere.  Tylwyth works as a stand alone play or as a follow on from Llwyth, so whether you were part of the Llwyth audience or not Tylwyth is promising to be an amazing watch!

A little about the show-

Aneurin has been running away from his past, but – thanks to Grindr – he unexpectedly finds love. When he and Dan decide to adopt, it seems their world is complete. But as he adjusts to being a dad and tries to move on from his reckless past, Aneurin is forced to confront his demons.

A decade on from the trail-blazing and award-winning Llwyth, Aneurin, Rhys, Gareth and Dada are back in this witty and compelling new play by Daf James. Taking an irreverent look at love, family and friendship, Tylwyth is a provocative commentary on contemporary Welsh life.
