Hello May, what's on
Wecome to our Theatr B! Blog as we look back on the month of April, we cannot help but feel grateful for the plethora of amazing experiences that we have had at Theatr Brycheiniog. From the incredible onstage show 'One Of Those One' to our Young Music Promoter gigs for 12-18 year olds, we have been constantly amazed by the level of talent that exists within our community.
One of the highlights of the month was undoubtedly the return of Theatr Wildcats, an inclusive theatre group for adults with learning disabilities. Their latest production, 'How To Be Happy', was an absolute triumph and left us feeling inspired and uplifted.
We are so proud to be a part of a community that values the arts and supports local talent. The Young Music Promoter gigs are a perfect example of this, giving young people the opportunity to connect with other like-minded individuals, whilst listening to some fantastic live music.
At Theatr Brycheiniog, we are committed to providing a space where everyone can feel welcome and included. Whether you are a seasoned theatre-goer or a first-time visitor, we strive to create an environment that is both enjoyable and accessible to all.
As we move into May, we are excited for the National Theatre Connections Festival on the coronation weekend and also to see what other amazing experiences await us at Theatr Brycheiniog. We cannot wait to continue to support our community and showcase the incredible talent that exists within it.
As we step into the month of May, we are thrilled to announce an exciting lineup of events at Theatr B! The sun is shining brighter, and the days are longer, which means it's the perfect time to indulge in some soul-stirring music, breathtaking dance performances, and of course, gripping drama. Whether you're a theatre enthusiast or simply looking for a fun evening out, we've got you covered. Join us for an unforgettable month filled with entertainment and artistry that will leave you wanting more!

Why is the Connections Festival all about?
Theatr Brycheiniog is delighted to be a partner venue in the 2023 National Theatre.
Our festival will see us welcome performances by Actorsworkshop and Everyman Youth Theatre, based in Cardfif, Caerphilly Youth Theatre, and Merthyr College and our very own Ghostlight Young Performers.
Connections is the National Theatre’s annual, nationwide youth theatre festival. The programme is 28 years old and has a history of championing the talent of young people from across the UK.
Everyyear,Connectionscommissionsnewplaysforyoungpeopletoperform. The programme brings together some of the UK’s most exciting writers with the theatre-makers of tomorrow. In 21/22, they worked with 260 youth companies and over 8,000 young people from every corner of the UK.
Connections is open to any company of young people aged 13-19. You can be a school, a youth theatre or voluntary organisation. You can have lots of experience staging plays or none at all. Whoever you are, your group can apply to be part of Connections.

To support our local community and audiences through the cost-of-living crisis, Theatr Brycheiniog will be running several free events, along with opening public spaces within the building as a safe and warm space to be.
With a cost of living and climate crisis, many of us are facing tough decisions. Some of us have moved to working from home following the pandemic and are negotiating a future with increased energy bills, others are facing harder decisions about whether to heat or eat.
