Yoga with Johanna Paxton
Yoga for all ages and ability. Release unwanted stress and tension. Improve strength, balance, flexibility and co-ordination
Johanna’s yoga lessons are a reflection of her interest in anatomy, biomechanics and the teachings of Vanda Scaravelli. Classes are friendly, relaxed and taught with a good measure of humour. Johanna is less concerned with the aesthetics of yoga postures, striving or pushing for increased flexibility. Instead, emphasis is placed on freeing tension in the body while working towards gradual suppleness and unrestricted movement.
Johanna is a yoga teacher based in South Wales. She began practicing yoga in 1998. Passionate about movement and dance, she was originally drawn to the strong, dynamic aspects of the Ashtanga Vinyasa style of yoga. More recently Johanna’s personal practice has moved towards concepts and ideas inspired by the late Vanda Scaravelli. Johanna gained her yoga teaching diploma in 2008 with Brighton based teachers Allie Hill, Chris Swain and Kathryn Varley. Johanna has studied with UK based teachers Bridget Whitehead, Caroline Reid, Bill Wood, Catherine Annis and Peter Blackaby.
