Frequently Asked Questions

Our Box Office answer your most frequently asked questions.

The Taff Trail
The Taff Trail starts in Brecon and ends in Cardiff Bay. It is 55 miles long, and begins at the canal basin. If you walk out to the canal from us, you will start to see black and yellow route markers, which are situated along the route.

What is the closest village along the canal?
There is a pub in Pencelli although it isn’t always open. From there, Talybont is the first village where you could stop and have a drink / snack at a canal side pub

Where can I find information about the canal for walkers or cyclers?
The Tourist Information Centre, Cattle Market car park, Brecon, is the best place to go for information about the canal route, although we'll of course do our best to help you.

What kind of food and drinks service do you offer?
The Waterfront Pop-up Café is open throughout the day, and in the evening on show nights. It offers a wide variety of food, freshly cooked to order. From light bites, to warming dishes, along with mouth watering cakes and coffee, or a pre-show meal, there is something for every occasion.
The fully licensed bar and café is nestled on the waterfront, with the famous canal providing a stunning location right in the heart of Brecon.
Open: 10am - 6pm, food: 11.30am - 5pm. On show nights we are open later for food and drinks, with last meal orders available 45 minutes before the show opening time. In addition there are pre-made sandwiches and baguettes along with cake available, you still have a chance to eat if you are tight on time.
We will be opening The Waterfront Bistro in January 2018, which will focus on providing a delicious menu celebrating the best of Welsh food, made from locally sourced ingredients.

What are our opening times?
